AUSTIN, Texas — UPDATE: The victim killed in this crash has been identified.
One woman is dead and four others, including three children, are injured after a crash that happened late on Memorial Day in northwest Austin.
According to a social media post from the Austin Police Department (APD), law enforcement arrived just after midnight Tuesday to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Research Boulevard and West Braker Lane.
Officers believe an individual in a white vehicle might have been driving on the wrong side of the road when they crashed into another vehicle carrying five people.
A woman inside the vehicle was killed and a man was transported to a hospital by life-flight. APD also said there were three children involved in the crash, all of whom were taken to a hospital for minor injuries.
The suspected wrong-way driver might have minor injuries, as well, according to police.
No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning. The road was temporarily closed to traffic but has since reopened.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
