BASTROP COUNTY, Texas — A boil notice that went into effect on Tuesday in parts of Bastrop County, which was the second boil water notice to be issued in the county in less than a week, was lifted Wednesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, a water main line broke, resulting in system pressure losses in two regions of the county. Now, all residents living north of FM 696 and west of State Highway 95 are asked to bring their water to a rolling boil before use.
Impacted customers were located in Zones 3 and 6 of the Aqua Water Supply Corporation's (WSC) service area.
Aqua WSC said it has taken "the necessary actions to confirm the quality of the water and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water does not require boiling."
The restrictions were put in place by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), along with Aqua WSC.
Last week, people in Hills Prairie, Rosanky and Smithville were placed under similar restrictions during a different water line break. These residents are no longer impacted.
