AUSTIN, Texas — The results are in!
In all of Texas, President Donald Trump garnered 94.1% of Republican votes, while candidate Joe Biden had 32.9% of Democratic votes in the 2020 primary election.
The 2020 November elections are still months away, but in past presidential elections, Texas has voted red.
In November 2016, Trump defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton with more than 4.6 million votes. Clinton had more than 3.8 million votes in Texas.
The November 2012 presidential election results in Texas were similar. Mitt Romney won Texas over with more than 4.5 million votes, while Barack Obama had more than 3.2 million votes.
The last time a Democratic candidate won in the state of Texas was in November 1976 when Jimmy Carter defeated Gerald Ford.

According to The Texas Tribune, since 1976, the closest a Democratic candidate has come to winning Texas was in November 1992 when the margin between George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton was 3.5 points.
