AUSTIN, Texas — All eyes will be on Texas for the total solar eclipse on April 8.
While the eclipse will pass 480 miles of Texas in 25 minutes, you can spend several days celebrating the once-in-a-lifetime celestial event deep in the heart of the Lone Star State.
The Texas Eclipse Festival will take place at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet starting on April 5. The festival will feature camping and glamping areas, along with music, immersive and interactive art, science speakers and panels, local food and vendors across six stage areas titled Earth, Sky, Moon, Sun, Lonestar and Eclipse.
The family-friendly festival grounds will experience totality for more than four minutes, with plenty of space to see the event, including an elevated eclipse viewing area. Festival organizers expect tens of thousands of people to attend the event leading up to the actual eclipse.
If you're looking to avoid the crowd, several other areas of Central Texas will experience totality for nearly three minutes. In Downtown Austin, there will be 1 minute and 50 seconds of totality.
For those looking to save gas or limit traffic to the festival, multiple round-trip shuttles will also be available, including for travelers flying into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
