AUSTIN, Texas — Shares of Telsa stock rose 11% on Monday, one day after the company reported a record number of vehicle deliveries for 2021.
According to a company press release, Tesla delivered 308,600 vehicles in Q4, bringing the year's total to 936,172. Tesla's 2021 deliveries were up 87% year-over-year, according to a report from CNBC.
This stock rise also comes after the Associated Press reported that Tesla recalled nearly half a million Model 3 and Model S cars, which could have camera and front trunk latch issues.
Tesla first announced its Austin selection for its billion-dollar Gigafactory in July 2020. The factory will produce the Model Y electric SUVs as well as the Cybertruck.
At the beginning of December 2021, Tesla officially moved its headquarters to the Austin area, filing an 8-K form with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to relocate its corporate headquarters to the site of its Gigafactory at 13101 Harold Green Road in Austin.
Signage for Harold Green Road at the Tesla site has already been placed calling it "Tesla Road," even though that name has not been officially changed.
