Why Virgin Atlantic is stopping flights between London and Austin

The airline has been operating flights from Austin to London's Heathrow Airport since May 2022.

AUSTIN, Texas — Less than two years after they began, Virgin Atlantic is stopping its flights from Austin to London.

The airline said they're suspending services between London's Heathrow Airport and Austin Bergstrom-Internation Airport following a network review.

The flights from Austin across the pond began in May 2022 but Virgin Airlines said that there's been a lack of corporate demand, specifically in the tech sector.

"We’ve adored flying our customers to Austin and experiencing this wonderful city of music and culture ... Therefore, sadly we made the tough decision to withdraw services," Juha Jarvinen with Virgin Atlantic said.

You still have a few weeks left if you're looking to fly into London. Services will be officially suspended on Jan. 7. Anyone with a ticket after that date will have several options, including the ability to get a full refund.
