AUSTIN, Texas — Mountain Cedar Season officially kicked off on Dec. 1 and although KVUE has recorded medium amounts of the pollen, cedar has remained out of the high count so far this month.
The Cedar count increased from 33 gr/m3 Monday morning to 100 gr/m3 by Monday afternoon to 107 gr/m3 by Tuesday morning. The reason for the increase was a dry and gusty north wind behind a cold front.
As of Wednesday, cedar pollen count has lowered to 80 gr/m3.
Here's a look at the Allergy forecast for Tuesday:
Cedar season typically starts in early December and lasts through mid-February. The peek of the cedar season is usually by the second week of January.
KVUE spoke with an allergist to find out how Central Texans can get some relief from the cedar fever.
KVUE is the only station in the region that takes its own allergy counts seven days each week from our North Austin studios. We track the latest pollen counts and forecasts every day.
