AUSTIN, Texas — It's Thursday, and that means a new drought monitor has been released for all of Central Texas.
For this week's drought monitor, we did not have much change from last week. Nearly all categories reporting drought levels at about the same. However, the "moderate" drought category dropped statewide by roughly 3% compared to last week.
While Thursday's rain will not count towards this week's drought monitor, we're expecting some more improvements in next week's drought monitor. Rainfall amounts look to be around a half of an inch to an inch and a half, with 2 inches possible in isolated spots.
Stick with KVUE as we continue to track our rain chances for Thursday, as well as for the upcoming weekend.
In the meantime, our 7-day outlook is below.
