AUSTIN, Texas — We're expecting a warm and dry next seven days, with some days getting close to that first 90-degree high of 2024.
However, we're also tracking a slight potential for rainfall later next week. Here's the latest.
Hot and dry
We're tracking a rather warm next few days, with the coolest highs on Friday in the lower 70s behind a cold front. That front is also a dry front, so no rain chances are expected. We also could start next week with highs very close to 90.
After heightened fire weather risk in the Hill Country on Thursday, we'll be monitoring "moderate" risk across all of Central Texas for Friday and the weekend.
Not only do we have this pattern for the next five days, but for the next seven as well, judging by this seven-day forecast.
However, while the warmth does continue for the next week or so, there could be some changes when it comes to precipitation.
Precipitation chances may increase
When looking at the latest eight- to 14-day outlooks for temperatures and precipitation, we do expect temperatures to continue to trend above averages as we round out February.
However, as we head through that same time period for precipitation, we're looking at a slight chance of above-average precipitation for all of us, with the more likely chances still in the Coastal Plains.
While this is optimistic for next week, you still should stick with KVUE in case anything changes with the forecast.
